ART OF GRAPHIX: Better returns through video marketing

In the past, research has shown that the average person spent 84 minutes or more per day watching online videos and this is not expected to increase until 2021. Facebook live videos have become incredibly popular, especially gardening and cooking videos. 88 percent of marketers report they offered a positive return on investment. Many companies started using video as a marketing tool in 2020, and 92 percent of those marketers said it was an important part of their marketing strategy.

Here are the top video marketing tips to help businesses get more out of video content in 2021.

Focus on consumers

Videos play a huge role in today's consumer decision-making and are a great way to position a company, product, or service. If you want potential customers to imagine engaging with your brand, it is imperative to create video content from their perspective. In particular, Tik Tok, one of the newest video sharing apps on the block, now has millions of active users worldwide. Getting started on this new platform offers many opportunities to reach a younger audience.

Some consumers want explanatory videos, which are short and concise DIY videos, how-tos, and other explanatory product videos to help them be more comfortable with their purchasing decisions. When done correctly, this type of content can deliver education, entertainment, and promotion all at the same time.

In 2019, 57 percent of marketers used live video before COVID-19 broadcast all of our classes, conferences and events to online platforms that were broadcast live on Zoom, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube.

Keep it short but interesting

People don't want to waste time on long descriptions either. So keep the content short as it is an inexpensive way to increase brand awareness. Above all, consider how your video content can improve brand awareness.

Decide what needs to be changed

Here is my general rule. Even great strategies that perform well have the potential to improve. If we can figure out why, keep focusing on it. Content that gets initial “OK” views but has poor completion rates or engagement may require some work. Some videos that don't resonate or are not relevant to your target audience may be because they don't move the audience the way you hoped. Scrap these strategies if they don't work for your business. Embedding high quality videos on your website can increase traffic and encourage visitors to spend more time on engaging.

Assess the budget for video marketing

This budget includes paying for video creation, consulting, writing, editing, and distributing scripts, and hiring a video team to shoot high quality clips.

Diversify content

Diversify the styles of the videos created. Possibly use voice-over narration, face-to-face interview with co-workers, clients, or team members. Go life. Live video is becoming more and more attractive and is the most viewed. However, make sure that any landing pages your videos users send to are mobile-friendly. Remember to add a call to action to your videos as well to encourage audience engagement.

Look at your goals

Ultimately, it's important to consider your overall marketing and business goals for 2021 and how video marketing fits in with them. Best practices have changed over the past year. New features have become available and user behavior has changed due to a number of factors.

At this point, it helps in developing a solid marketing plan to keep track of not only certain strategies, but also certain video storyboards. Do what you can to make your video content more engaging and interactive as online users expect more. The momentum of videos will go a long way as video marketing continues to grow and won't change its path in the near future. Until we meet again, fill your life with memories rather than regrets. Enjoy life and stay up to date.
